On the 1st of July 2021, the Law on the Legal Status of Human Rights Defenders entered into force in Mongolia. As is stated in Article 1 of the Law:

“The objective of this law is to recognize, promote, respect, protect the rights of
human rights defenders, provide working condition and collaborate with human rights
defenders, and regulate structure, organization and operation of Committee on Human Rights
Defenders.”
