The main objective of the International Seminar on Protection Policies for Human Rights Defenders and Journalists is to critically analyse the socio-political and legal processes involved in the construction of laws and protection mechanisms from a public policy approach. To this end, an assessment and analysis of the implementation and the instruments and results of public policies for protecting journalists and human rights defenders in Latin America will be conducted.

The Seminar is open to the public and is aimed at representatives of government institutions, human rights commissions, prosecutors, judges, congressmen, academic institutions, students, civil society organisations, human rights groups, human rights defenders and journalists, activists, communities and indigenous peoples, and social leaders.
