In 2019, the Ombudsman’s Office in Ecuador adopted Resolution 077 for the protection of human rights defenders. The purpose of the resolution is to establish actions for the promotion and protection of the rights of human rights and nature defenders, in accordance with international standards (including the Escazú Agreement) and the recommendations made on the subject.
