This document will explain how the Plan of Timely Action for the Prevention and Protection of Human Rights Defenders, social and community leaders and journalists -PAO-, created during the government of Iván Duque, has gradually given way to the formulation of a public policy that aims to provide respect and guarantees for the work of defending Human Rights in the country.

The information presented here is derived from the official document of the PAO, from information shared by the Ministry of the Interior in the civil society participation meetings for the formulation of the project, from petitions sent to the Ministry and from an interview with the Human Rights Directorate of the same entity.
